The Dream-Quest of the Playhouse

A peek behind the curtain

When the Miskatonic Playhouse was founded back in 2022, our aim was World Domination to play Community Content for Call of Cthulhu 7e. Each year we’ve been iterating and changing, searching for something to finally grant us peace from the haunting Call of Cthulhu. In 2025, under a deluge of requests to run more games, we focused on getting as many out as possible. 25 full scenarios, a bundle of interviews and panels, and a dozen short videos from Chaosium Con later, we have over 100 hours of content we’ve managed to put out into the world in just one short year.

Looking towards 2026, we’re not planning on stopping. We’ve invested in some new back-end technology to make recording and editing easier (Thanks to our Friends of the Playhouse). But more importantly, 2026 heralds a return to the thing that brings all of us at MP together.

Writing.

The Miskatonic Playhouse is made up of scenario and game writers. And we want to do more of it. We’ve dipped our toes into publishing with our hit scenario Stage Fright and our recent anthology: From the Library of the Playhouse. And, like blood, we’ve got a taste for it.

So with the preamble out of the way, allow us to welcome you all to the Whispers in the Wings. The Playhouse’s (semi-) regular blog. At least once a month we’ll be posting updates from the crew of the Playhouse. Mostly we’ll publish non-fiction writing: essays; insights; and opinions from these worshippers of the all-Mother ne’erdowells. Press releases from our burgeoning printing arm and even the occasional horror story. Get updates into your inbox by signing up, or just keep an eye on our Discord. That’s where all the magic happens anyway.

Hedge are you sure that by putting a line through words that it deletes it? I can still see the stuff we cut from the draft.

Yes, trust me Newman. I know how to use computers.
